Installation Guide
Installation Time: Approximately 30 minutes
Tools Required:
- 10 mm socket
- 12 mm socket
- Ratchet
- 10mm wrench
- 4 Ground Cables
- 3 M6 Bolts
- 1 M6 Nut
- 4 6mm Flat Washers
Installation
Note: Stainless Steel bolts are not as strong as steel bolts. Do not overtighten the bolts provided or they can break off.
Four grounding cables will be installed in these approximate locations:
We recommend removing the paint from these grounding points for better contact.
The first 24" cable will run from the negative terminal of the battery to the chassis at the passenger side rear inner strut nut location. Use the nut and washer provided to install the cable without removing the existing nut:
You may also cut a hole and run the cable through this grommet if you wish:
The second 20" cable will run from the M6 tapped hole at the passenger side rear of the intake manifold and to the other rear strut nut on the passenger side. Use the M6 Bolt and washer provided:
The third 20" cable runs from the M6 tapped hole at the driver side rear of the intake manifold and to the rear strut nut on the driver side. Use the M6 Bolt and washer provided:
The last 14" cable runs from the small bracket mounting bolt near the upper radiator hose connection and to the driver side hood switch bracket upper mounting bolt:
That’s it you’re done! You should notice a smoother running engine, faster starting, a better idle, a few additional HP and better mileage.
If your Z is equipped with a plastic intake manifold you will need to choose alternate grounding locations.
