PAT 4 > Issue 11: Blue Batmobile Overlays & Wheel Update
Written By: David Pitlyuk
In this issue we will be installing BlueBatmobile taillight and rear sidemarker overlays as well as a minor update on our wheel setup.
BlueBatmobile offers custom creative solutions for overlays in all sorts of options. For our solution we decided to smoke the taillights and rear sidemarker lights in order to better match our color theme. A lot of people think it's just tint, but in fact it is a high grade performance vinyl that is pliable and fairly easy to work with. There is no fading or peeling issues, but can also be removed if desired. The difference with tint is that there is not much flexibility, and it's not really good for outdoor use (tint is installed on the inside of the car) or regular cleaning. With the performance vinyl there are no issues with being outside of the car or with a regular cleaning.
We stopped by our buds over at Atlantic Motorsports to help out with the install, it's much easier with two or three people.

You'll want to clean the surface first

Wetting the surface and then putting the vinyl into place is a must!

Once the vinyl is set in place, try your best to work all of the air bubbles out. Whatever you cannot get, you'll have to pop with a needle later. A heat gun will help.

There's that heatgun

Done!

Much better now that the rear sidemarkers are done too!

Another shot
As for the wheels, they are stil 19" Volk SF Challenges, but now with a gold face instead of gunmetal. Pics tell the best story :-)

That's all for this issue. In the next issue we'll cover the Injen SES1985C dual exhaust and the Cobra Misano L racing seats. We recently finished installing the APS Twin Turbo, so that will be an awesome future to look out for!
Thanks again to BlueBatmobile and Atlantic Motorsports for all of their help.
