Project Active Tuning is an ’02 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE which we will be modifying to showcase Active Tuning products as well as some select products from other manufacturers which we will be reviewing and recommending to our customers to further enhance the already fantastic styling and performance of the third generation Nissan Altima.

The car is a Super Black/Charcoal SE 5-Speed with every option except the leather package. The lack of leather was quickly remedied by the installation of a two-tone leather upholstery kit from Leatherseats.com.

We chose the dark graphite and the grey. Dark graphite is a perfect match for the dark charcoal color of the interior, and the grey broke up the monotony some. We also chose grey door insert upholstery, and painted some of the interior trim pieces a similar metallic grey color. An Ichibahn shift knob and Momo pedals complete the look inside.

The subtle theme continues on the exterior of the car. The chrome window trim was blacked out, the factory badging was removed, and the windows were tinted using 35% Llumar tint. The ActiveTuning S2 Grille, 19" Konig Tantrums with 245/35ZR19 Yokohama AVS Sport tires and an Eibach Sportline drop complete the look.

Performance modifications include a JWT Pop-charger warm air intake, an Unorthodox Racing underdrive crankshaft pulley, a Stillen Race-Pipe, and a custom cat-back exhaust with a Magnaflow resonator and a Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 Series muffler. The muffler was located directly under the rear cross member, and has one inlet and two outlets. No mufflers exist in the original locations; the tailpipes are finished with chrome angle-cut 4” tips.

Future modifications will include a Stillen rear sway bar, a JIC coil-over suspension, a JWT aluminum flywheel, aftermarket brakes, and much more! You may be wondering what he have up our sleeves for new Active Tuning products, and we promise to continue actively developing new products for the new Altima and other Nissan vehicles.

The Active Tuning Body Kit will follow soon thereafter. This will be a very complete and well engineered body kit that will set new standards in the Automotive Styling market. We are currently researching materials and production methods, as well as finalizing the design, and expect to have the prototype kit installed on our project car by this spring, at which time the pictures will be posted on the website. Full production should be underway by late spring or early summer.

We will be continually expanding our current styling product offerings and adding some interior products as well as several performance enhancing products. All future products will remain true to our philosophy and will be direct bolt on replacements with an emphasis on functionality and performance. As always, we will continue to provide the best installation instructions in the aftermarket which are always available on our site for your review prior to purchasing. Stay tuned as we continue to improve Active Tuning and check the website frequently for further updates!
