Mission

It is our mission to be the leader in Nissan aftermarket performance and styling accessories. We shall accomplish this by providing exceptional value to our customers with high quality, superior performing, innovative products, and by providing service that exceeds their expectations. We will achieve these goals by marketing the products that our customers demand; respecting our customers, suppliers and community; and fostering continuous improvement by actively developing innovative new products emphasizing functionality and performance. Our products are made to be direct replacements for the original parts and it is our mission to provide exceptional customer service and installation assistance in order to save our customers as much money as possible.

History

ActiveTuning was formed when two Nissan enthusiasts met online on the Altimas.net community forum in the summer of 2002. Mike was already an Altima owner, and Dave was already amassing parts for a 2003 Altima he did not even own yet! A shared enthusiasm for the import tuning hobby and the Nissan brand led to the production of the ActiveTuning Sports Grille, and the many other fine new products which are continually being added to the product line-up.

ActiveTuning is dedicated to providing the Nissan enthusiast with unique products. Because our products are exclusive and produced in small quantities, we sell only directly to our customers or through exclusive agreements with Nissan dealerships. Your continued support insures that ActiveTuning will continue to respond to customer needs with even more new and innovative products.

About Us

Michael Wettengal: Partner & Director Of Research & Development

Mike has extensive experience in the automotive field. Following a two-year vocational apprenticeship program in auto body construction and metal fabrication at Robert-Bosch Schule in Stuttgart, Germany, he restored Detomaso Panteras, Shelby Cobras, and Shelby Mustangs, and developed aftermarket body styling kits for Stauffer Classics in Blue Mounds, WI. Most notably, he restored the Ford GT-40 # 1046. He then went on to restore investment automobiles for Sun Valley Classics in Tempe, AZ. Many of these cars were part of the Barret-Jackson and Blackhawk collections.

Some notable cars he worked on were a Bugatti for Jay Leno, Elton John's Delahaye, and a 1953 Oldsmobile XP-20 concept car formerly owned by E.L. Cord and constructed from a raw fiberglass body and original GM engineering blueprints. This car sold for $3 million dollars in 2005 setting a new Barrett-Jackson auction record. He also wrote service for a Chrysler dealership and worked as an medical equipment field service engineer before starting ActiveTuning with David Pitlyuk. Mike owns a 2002 Nissan Altima 3.5 and a 2005 Titan SE KC, and is an active member of the NissanClub.com, TitanTalk.com, and ClubTitan.org discussion forums.
