We’ll continue to update you guys on the production of the rest of the grilles as we have updates. In the meantime please understand we’re working as quickly as possible to get everything completed in the fastest time without compromising quality.

First, I’d like to point out that the grilles are in production right now.  In fact, the actual surrounds have all been completed…as well as the mesh.  The delays we’re waiting on right now is painting.  Our painter got tied up in some other work, so our grilles have literally been sitting there waiting on him to be ready.

We’re told that painting will resume after this holiday weekend, so we’re hoping to really get things started by next week.  Once grilles are painted, mesh has to be installed, and have to box things up.  Somewhere in there we’ll start to take orders (when we feel ready and confident that we know when grilles will start to ship).

Update 7/24/08: I wanted to post another update to let you know guys know where we stand.  We’re still incurring delays from our painter, which is the bottleneck at this point.  He’s only managing to paint batches of one color per week so far.  He has finished the black grilles earlier this week, and plans on finishing the silver grilles by early next week.

While we do have the grilles, we will not be taking orders until everything is ready to sell, meaning all colors are painted, meshes are all installed, etc.  I realize there have been delay after delay, and I apologize for that…but we’re doing the best we can to get them completed as quickly as possible.  We’re just as frustrated about the delays as you are.  There is far more demand for the grilles than we can produce, and there’s really no reason we wouldn’t try our best to get them out to you as quick as possible.

Update 8/20/08: It’s been a while since the last update.  We have a decent inventory of grilles painted, and are slowly installing mesh as time permits.  We’ll be starting to take orders soon, and will hopefully have an update with an actual date estimate by the end of the weekend.  Until then, stay tuned, and please be patient.  We have something like 200 people on a list that want grilles, and nowhere near that many…we are trying to get these out as quick as possible.

We’re finally approaching the final leg of production of a limited batch for the following grilles:

• Nissan Altima S5 Grille
• Nissan Altima S2 Grille
• Nissan Maxima S4.1 Grille

There will be a select amount of each of the above grilles, that we hope to have completed and ready to sell within the next 3-4 weeks (Crossing my fingers for no delays).  These grilles will be available on a first come first serve basis, and once they’re sold, I don’t know when we’ll have more again.

For ease of purpose on our end, we’ll only be painting the grilles silver and black.  For those with silver/black Altima’s/Maxima’s, you’ll get lucky.  For those with other colors, but still want a grille, we’ll have a VERY SMALL amount of unpainted grilles available, otherwise you would have to pay the premium of a painted grille, and then get it painted locally to match your cars color.

Right now, we’re thinking about doing a limited release of the mirrors, but we need to ensure that we get at least 5 orders to make it worth our time.  This is not a group buy with discounted pricing, but rather a select, one-time, limited release for the select few that want to show the exclusive product off on their Altima.

Parts Needed:

• 4th gen. Maxima (1995-1999) Koni Sport (yellow) strut inserts.
• PL Urethane adhesive
• Loctite 271
• 12mm serrated lock washers (2)
• 12 x 1.25mm nylon insert locknut

Install the Koni inserts into your strut bodies per the Koni instructions provided. Use the Loctite on the lower bolt, and a 1/4 bead of urethane adhesive around the top of the shock at the protrusions on the Koni insert bodies.

Modify the upper strut mount (insulator) by removing the flat spot from the bore with a die grinder or drill bit.

Reduce the height of the mount by 8mm with a saw/grinder/mill by removing the material from the bottom. When completed the bottom of the center bore will be approximately level with the three raised areas of the rubber portion.

Assemble and install the struts using the serrated washer and Koni-provided nuts on the upper mount center bolt.

Tighten to 40 ft. lbs.

At first look, I really like it a lot better than the current model. The headlights will take a little getting used to, but I think I will like them. They look nice especially in this front shot above. I think the rear of the car is the best part, and is a huge improvement over the bulky previous design. The whole car looks much more refined, taking some aspects of the new Honda Accord…but better

What are your thoughts? I think it has some great potential based on these shots…I’m dying to see the production version!
