Nissan Intima Concept

An overlooked concept that will be debuting at the Tokyo Auto Show is the Nissan Intima.

PRESS RELEASE

Intima

A New-generation Saloon for People with a Sophisticated, Discerning Eye for Beauty - Who Enjoy Spending Time in Refined Elegance and Comfort, Whether Traveling Alone or with a Partner

* Intima takes Nissan’s Modern Living Concept into a new dimension with an interior that invites passengers into an extraordinary world of artistic forms, materials and illumination.
* The front passenger’s seat swivels approx. 80° to the outside, as if to welcome and escort a passenger into the car.
* Exterior styling that matches the interior’s artistic image, with a design that combines sharp-edged lines and organic panel surfaces. Rich elegance is conveyed though Intima’s arching side character line, while the crystal-like appearance of the front and rear lamps, grille and wheels project an image of superior quality and refinement reminiscent of jewelry.

I work at a Nissan dealership in Virginia. Our NissanUSA Director of Marketing let me know that the Intima Concept has a striking resemblance to the 2009 Maxima. I haven’t seen any pictures as of yet but General Managers have seen the actual vehicle. From what I’ve heard the Intima looks just like it so this “may” be the next Maxima. If it is then I’m so glad I work for Nissan!

I could see this being the next Maxima for sure, especially since they really need to step the Max up since the Altima is so close on its heals now. I just don’t see that happening in 2009…especially considering the Intima is just a concept at this point. I could see this being the next next Maxima though…or maybe the Maxima goes through another big refresh for a few more years.

    I guess we’ll see though!

I work for a Nissan dealership at Henderson, NV and our GM of our store said that he saw the final production model of the upcoming 2009 Maxima and he said that it is a different car from the out going model. I am excited about this vehicle and the pricing will match with the outgoing model.

My husband purchased my first brand new car a 2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SE in August 2003. It is a limited edition, onyx (black) in color with the elite package. The elite package has 2-passenger rear seats/heated rear seats/ rear center console w/ 12v power point auto-up/down rear windows and power rear sunshade w/dual (front & rear controls. It is just fully loaded. I have not been impressed with any maxima before or since. If the 2009 Maxima looks anything like this Intima Concept it is mine baby. This is my 4th Maxima; 89, 97, 2002, were fun, but my baby is nice and my seats are the same color as the concept car. I have been searching the net hoping to get a look at the 09 Maxima. We have been considering the E series Lexus and the 08 CTS. We have agreed to wait until the Auto show in January here in Philadelphia. I am hoping we get to see the Maxima then.
