In-Person: Nismo 350Z
July 23rd, 2007 by Dave
While I was looking at the Nissan Altima coupe, I also caught the new Nismo 350Z sitting at the dealer. The new special edition Nismo Z starts around $39,000 and features a complete aero package (very low/aftermarket looking), Nismo tuned suspension, gunmetal wheels, Brembo brakes, and two-tone interior. The Z has 306hp.
I like the fact that something this aggressive is officially coming out of a dealership and from Nissan directly. I’m not a huge fan of the body kit, but it does look good….and for just a $2,000 premium over the grand touring package, it’s not too bad of a price either.

What do you think about it? Is it too much? Just right? What about the price?

price is way too much!
I like the body kit except the rear bumper
front end looks good… works well with the new hood… rear is a bit overkill though… and they could have been a bit more creative with the wheels
ya the car looks good overall except for the rear bumper
Front, and sides look great, rims are decent, horsepower a definate plus. The rear a little too much for me. you have to admit Nissan is the only company that has the balls to come out with a car that has such an aggressive street look to it…overall a great car.
I, too, was looking at the Altima Coupe when I spied the Nismo Z. I have a ‘07 GT in solar orange and put the “flared” Nismo runners on it, which I think compliment the car far better than the straight ones on the Nismo edition. Although the rear bumper looks aggressive, I think it’s too square for the lines of the car. I am looking into the front bumper…think it would look great on mine. The dealership actually had the sticker at exactly the same price as I paid for my GT and not a penny more. The only downfall I saw in the Nismo Z was the seats weren’t leather and I desperately wanted orange leather…not sure if you can get it with leather or not. I think it’s a great move by Nissan to compete with Subarus and Evos that come with all the plastic.
The car drives great. I was impressed by the handling and the power response. With a little forced induction, the car would be perfect.
Hey Gene, welcome to the blog! I figured the handling would be sensational on the car. Thanks for posting your thoughts.
We will be hosting a NISMO 350Z event on Sunday Sep 23 from 12:00 to 4:00 at my Nissan Dealership in Frederick, Md. I am inviting everyone with any kind of import to attend. We will be giving out trophies for the Best Nissan, the Best non- Nissan Import and the Best in Show. You will also be able to drive the new NISMO Z. Nissan will be providing some nice give aways. Come early to get your parking spot.
